Westown is good for the neighborhood...
Westown Jubilee Housing is generating a new optimism and energy in this urban neighborhood by remodeling neglected homes, by upgrading utility efficiency and by building new residential units. Half of our current Board Members represent local concerns or are local residents (including Homesteaders). Construction funds, mortgages and escrows are obtained through and held in local banks. Each new family is encouraged to “shop locally” and involve themselves in our schools, neighborhood associations and community events. Gifted leaders are being recruited and equipped. Visionary homeowners are rising to address remaining concerns and issues. New or renovated homes tend to set off a ripple effect of improvements across their immediate block. Gardens are started, flowers are planted and hope glistens on the surface of Westown once again.
